Privacy Policy
What we collect when you use this site or ask for an estimate, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to tell us to stop.
01 Who we are
Zac Building Group LLC, an Illinois limited liability company, operates this website. We are the party responsible for the information described here.
We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the past twelve months.
02 What we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the estimate form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The service you are asking about
- Whether the property is residential or commercial
- Any job details you type into the message box, including the city and timeline you give us
We also keep records of calls, texts, and emails between us, and any notes, photos, measurements, or documents created while quoting or performing your project.
Please do not send sensitive information through the form. We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, driver's licence number, financial account numbers, or health information. If a payment method is ever needed, we will collect it through a secure channel, not through this website's form.
03 Collected automatically
When you submit the form, our system also records marketing and technical details so we know where the request came from. Specifically:
- The page URL you submitted from, and the website that referred you
- Campaign tags in the link you clicked (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content)
- Advertising click identifiers, where present (gclid from Google Ads, fbclid from Meta, and similar)
- Meta advertising cookies, where present (_fbp and _fbc)
- The date and time you submitted
Our hosting and analytics providers may also log your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed, in the ordinary course of running the site.
04 How we use it
- To respond to your request, schedule a walkthrough, and prepare an estimate
- To perform, invoice, and support your project
- To contact you about your request by phone, text, or email, as described in section 07
- To understand which of our ads and pages actually generate work, so we do not waste money on the ones that do not
- To keep records we are required to keep, and to protect our legal rights
- To detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse of the form
We do not sell your information. We do not share your phone number or your consent to be contacted with any third party for their own marketing.
07 Text messages
We will not text you unless you asked us to. We only send text messages to people who gave prior express written consent by checking the consent box on our form, or who texted us first.
- What we send: replies about your estimate request, scheduling and appointment reminders, and updates about your project.
- Frequency: varies based on your project. This is conversational, not a bulk campaign.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for the messages.
- To stop: reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and then nothing further.
- For help: reply HELP, or call 224-402-4039.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can hire us without agreeing to texts.
Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories in section 05 exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information is not shared with any third parties for their own marketing.
08 How long we keep it
- Estimate requests that never became jobs: 24 months, then deleted.
- Customer and project records: kept for the length of any warranty and for as long as Illinois law requires us to keep contracts, invoices, and tax records, which is generally 7 years.
- Opt-out records: kept indefinitely, because we need them to prove we honoured your request to stop.
09 Security
The form is submitted over an encrypted connection and your contact record is stored in access-controlled software. We limit access to the people who need it to do their job.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach of your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530).
10 Your choices
Contact us using section 14 and we will act on any of these:
- Ask what we have about you, and get a copy
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your information, except records we must keep for legal, tax, warranty, or dispute reasons
- Stop texts by replying STOP
- Stop marketing email using the unsubscribe link in any message
- Stop calls by telling us, on any call or in writing
We will not discriminate against you or refuse to quote your job because you exercised any of these. We respond within 30 days.
11 Illinois residents
Illinois does not currently have a comprehensive consumer data privacy statute of the kind in effect in California or Virginia. We nonetheless offer the choices in section 10 to everyone who contacts us, regardless of where they live.
We do not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14). We do not collect fingerprints, voiceprints, retina or iris scans, or face geometry through this website.
If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive privacy law that applies to us, contact us and we will honour the rights that law gives you.
12 Children
This site is meant for adults hiring a contractor. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13 Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top when we do. If we make a material change to how we use information we already collected from you, we will tell you directly before it takes effect.
